When we are lost, we do not see the path. Life is also that way. When we are not seeing things from the right perspective, bad things typically occur.
Lack of direction will cause many problems. Some people never find direction, they wander aimlessly. I believe I struggled with direction for so long because of many factors. Part of it was things I had been through, some of it was self inflicted.
Failures have been my biggest lessons. Whether you can attribute it to being selfish, or immature, I do not know. What I do know, is the more I lost my way, the more I learned what not to do. Eventually, you hit enough dead ends that you either make changes, or you end up losing yourself. I am very blessed to have found my way back from many dead ends.
Once I started taking the time to listen and let things come to me naturally, I began to see my path forward. I remember one time, I broke my leg. I was going crazy sitting in the house. I did not know what to do as I could not work. In that moment, something shifted. It is so easy to revert to empty comforts such as TV or scrolling social media. I fought that and forced myself to sit in quiet for days with no distractions. NO music, NO social media, NO TV. I was going insane.
Finally, it came to me. after three days I determined I was going to start a business. I did that and have been in business ever since.
Many things can give direction, but for me, self reflection gave me direction more than anything else. I did not understand it at the time, but I do now. It is also funny to note that my decision to start a business was not accepted by others at first. I pushed on anyways. When you feel something, you need to explore it. Do so even when others may not support it. Can you fail? Sure. If you do, guess what, you tried and you know that maybe you are meant for something else. Reflection will allow you to lead a life without regret. It will show you the paths to go down, and the ones to avoid.
